Air, water and micro-organisms found in the soil and water are needed to complete the process.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n [\/et_pb_accordion_item][et_pb_accordion_item title=”What is the definition of an Environmentally Acceptable Lubricant (EAL)?” _builder_version=”4.9.4″ _module_preset=”default” global_colors_info=”{}” open=”off”]<\/p>\n There are many terms: Environmentally Friendly, Green, Eco-Friendly and other undefined terms that are used in the industry by various companies. These terms have no relationship to qualifying as an approved EAL. There is an approved definition of an Environmentally Acceptable Lubricant (EAL) by the US EPA. This definition is used in the 2013 Vessel General Permit for the Marine industry. That definition says that to be classified as an EAL, the product must be ultimately biodegradable, have low toxicity and non-bioaccumulative. The standard also lists the tests that are acceptable to show that a product meets these standards. BioBlend hydraulic oils have performed well in field applications for extended periods of time. We recommended following the manufacturer\u2019s guidelines for lubricant change intervals. We do not recommend shorter change intervals for our products. In both cases 200-300 ppm of water will deplete some additives, react with others to form corrosives, reduce film strength, clog filters, increase air entrainment, and increase the likelihood of cavitation.
