Plunger Packing Grease
BioGrease PPG is specifically designed for plunger packing lubrication of triplex and quintuplex pumps. BioGrease PPG is made from a high quality natural ester base oil, with a special blend of polymers to provide low temperature pumpability, excellent adhesion to the plunger, and minimize friction while providing an excellent seal in the system. Pumpability is critical in these pumps and BioGrease PPG offers excellent performance at a very wide range of temperatures. In addition, this ultra-low toxicity grease is made from bio-based, sustainable base stocks and is readily biodegradable if released in the environment.
- Field proven in shale formations throughout the United States: Marcellus, Bakken, Permian & Eagleford

Frequently Asked Questions
What Is Plunger Packing?
Plunger packing is a sealing material used in plunger pumps to prevent fluid leakage around the pump’s plunger. It ensures efficient operation, reduces wear, and helps maintain pressure in demanding pumping applications.
What Is Packing Grease?
Packing grease is a specialized lubricant applied to the packing in plunger pumps. It reduces friction, minimizes wear, and helps create a better seal, extending both packing and pump life. BioBlend’s BioGrease PPG is formulated for superior lubrication, is readily biodegradable, and performs well under high pressure and harsh conditions.
What Does a Plunger Pump Do?
In the oil industry, plunger pumps move fluids—such as crude oil, water, or drilling mud—under high pressure. They are commonly used for well servicing, chemical injection, and other heavy-duty applications where durability and reliable fluid transfer are essential.
